VotePA is NOT the Pennsylvania Department of State
We are NOT responsible for the state's ongoing advertising about Voter ID

VotePA is an organization of
Voters for Open & Transparent Elections in PA

And we believe that taxpayer dollars being spent on PA's Voter ID law
should be used toward correcting more urgent threats to our elections
like replacement of our aging, paperless voting machines!

Why are we posting this? On October 4, Rachel Maddow had a great segment on her show about the PA Department of State's confusing information regarding Voter ID not being required at the November 6 election:

But the PA Department of State website, votespa.com is apparently similar enough to our name VotePA that confusion occurred. At 10:47 PM, less thqn a half hour after the above segment aired, the following lovely message was left to our Executive Director's personal voicemail from a blocked phone number (warning-strong language):

VotePA is a group of citizens, and we are trying to help. We have been working hard for over seven years to draw attention to a very real statewide problem (the aging, unverifiable paperless voting machines in PA) that so many others ignore.

So please people, be aware of whom you are calling before you dial.

About VotePA: We are a statewide alliance dedicated to voting rights and election integrity. As a grassroots citizen group we count registered voters of five different political parties and non-partisan voters among our membership, united by belief in the right of every eligible citizen to vote for candidates of his or her choice and to have every vote counted accurately. We are a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, as such donations to support our work are not tax-deductible but are very much needed and much appreciated. DONATE
